Homebush Garden City

Homebush Garden City

The Homebush Garden City project is a feasibility Study carried out for developer YMCI, in collaboration with lead architect Kann Finch, for a site in close proximity to the Olympic Stadium at Homebush.

The proposal gives vision to a master-plan for the site that includes a range of mixed-use and apartment buildings at different scales.

Buildings 3a and 3B are conceived as twin 10 storey apartment buildings configured as ‘L’ shaped blocks. Collins and Turner worked closely with Kann Finch and the client’s representatives to develop an integrated strategy for planning, construction, and landscape. Our vision integrates planting into the vertical articulation of the buildings in the form of a series of planted balconies of different sizes, creating in effect a vertical extension of the extensive network of parks and green spaces constructed for the 2000 Olympic Games.
