Andy studied architecture at the University of Lincoln, graduating with a Master of Architecture. During his studies, he gained early professional experience across a range of sectors—including heritage, civic, and residential projects—while working with Purcell in Cambridge. Following graduation, he continued at Purcell, deepening his expertise in the conservation and adaptive reuse of complex heritage sites before relocating to Sydney in 2011.
In 2012, Andy joined Bijl Architecture, where he progressed from Graduate Architect to Senior Associate. Over more than a decade with the practice, he led a wide range of projects across the education, public, and residential sectors, with a particular focus on high-end boutique housing. He developed a reputation for delivering finely resolved, design-led outcomes, managing projects from early concept through to construction and handover.
Andy joined Collins and Turner as a Senior Associate in 2023 and currently leads several key projects, including public buildings and parklands in Central and Western Sydney, as well as private residences in Sydney and the UAE.
In addition to his project work, Andy plays a central role in practice management, supporting studio operations, team development, and the refinement of internal processes and quality systems.
Beyond his architectural practice, Andy is a strong advocate for mental health in the profession. He is actively involved in promoting workplace wellbeing and resilience within the studio environment. He also contributes his time and skills to charitable initiatives, including work with Lifeline Australia, reflecting his deep commitment to community support and social impact.
