Promotions – Giles Gibbins

Insights

We are delighted to announce the promotion of Giles Gibbins to the role of Associate.

Giles joined the studio in 2021 and has since become an integral part of our team, demonstrating a rare combination of design sensitivity, technical expertise, and calm leadership across complex project environments. He currently leads two significant projects—the Sydney Harbour Bridge Cycleway and the Tivoli Avenue residential development in Rose Bay—both now under construction. His work on the Cycleway includes navigating the rigorous SSDA process, Design Integrity Panel reviews, extensive public consultation, and coordination across multidisciplinary teams and active transport stakeholders.

A Registered Architect in New South Wales, Giles completed his Master of Architecture with Honours at the University of Newcastle in 2015. His early career included time at EJE Architecture and Bijl Architecture, where he developed strong foundations in project delivery, contract administration, and client engagement. A period spent working internationally in 2019 further broadened his design perspective and understanding of global architectural practice.

Alongside his project work, Giles has contributed to architectural education as a tutor at both UTS and UNSW, supporting emerging designers in their own professional development.

Giles’ promotion recognises his thoughtful leadership, commitment to design excellence, and his growing role in shaping the future of our practice. We congratulate him on this well-deserved achievement and look forward to his continued contribution to Collins and Turner.
