Harbour Bridge Cycleway progress

We’re excited to share the latest progress on the Sydney Harbour Bridge Cycleway, currently under construction at Milsons Point.July marked a major milestone with the completion of the structural steel ramp deck, and the cutting of the existing concrete parapet in preparation for its removal and relocation. Also featured here are recent progress photos showing the steelwork in fabrication, along with full-scale prototypes of the cast bronze balustrade and paving artwork—developed in collaboration with artists Maddison Gibbs and Jason Wing. The paved surface will feature a blend of Australian stones, including Moruya granite, famously used in the original Harbour Bridge pylons.Once complete, the new cycleway will create a seamless link between the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Milsons Point, eliminating the need for cyclists to climb 55 stairs and greatly enhancing accessibility for riders of all ages and abilities.
The project is being delivered by Arenco for Transport for New South Wales
