Situated to the north east of the Green Square masterplan, the Lachlan Precinct is experiencing rapid transformation from its recent history as a light industrial area, in close proximity to the heart of Sydney.
Historically a market garden, the new community will enjoy well planned streets set amongst a series of public spaces, gardens, and parks.
Our second proposal for JQZ envisages an 8 storey residential and retail structure, at an important junction between Archibald and Gadigal Avenues, overlooking a new public park being planned by Oculus Landscape Architects.
The proposal responds to massing and zoning controls with a classical building form that incorporates 42 apartments linked by a series of landscaped open air terraces and voids, and provides a covered open air arcade at ground level, providing a visual link through the building between Dyuralya Park to the north and Wulaba Park to the south east.
The external appearance of the building is characterised by structure and slabs expressed in off-white glazed brick to the lower 6 floors. Above this, as the building form narrows, the structure transitions to a champagne toned aluminium cladding and continues beyond the roof level to form a trellis structure around the mutli-level roof-top garden, accessible to all residents.
